B. Davis Scholarship: This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post-secondary institution. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000. The deadline is May 28, 2012. To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay of less than 1000 words on how your education has contributed to who you are today, or how it will affect who you will become. The FedEx/UNCF Scholarship Program: This program provides scholarship opportunities for high school seniors entering any Historically Black College or University commencing Fall 2012. ExxonMobile Bernard Harris Match and Science Scholarship: Named for the first African American to walk in space, ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships are available to 2012 graduating high school seniors. Four scholarships for two males and two females — $5,000 each — will be awarded to two African American and two Hispanic students on behalf of the former NASA astronaut, physician and businessman, Dr. Bernard Harris. Redskins Magazine Minority Scholarship Program: Redskins Magazine Minority Scholarship Program is a general scholarship hosted annually by the Redskins Magazine. The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship: Through its Education and Leadership Development Program, the Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $7,500 annually to minority high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice. Exploring Engineering at the University of Maryland: (E2@UMD) is a one-week summer program for high school women (rising juniors or seniors) who are considering engineering as a possible major and career. You will live on campus for one-week and explore the world of engineering through fun hands-on activities, laboratory experiments, informative workshops, team challenges, and seminars with professional engineers. College Bound Scholarship: The College Bound Scholarship application is available now. The application deadline is March 19, 2012 by 5:30PM. 11th and 12th grade students who have participated in the College Bound program for at least one program year are eligible for this scholarship. JCH Memorial Scholarship: A scholarship has been established in memory of College Bound alum Justin Carl Holman. This $1,000 award is for a graduating College Bound senior who has demonstrated a commitment to the environment through community service or intended academic studies. The Blacks In Government Department of Labor Chapter (BIG-DOL) Scholarship Program is accepting applications from high school students who will be graduating this spring. A complete application package must be submitted to the Scholarship Program committee no later than March 15, 2012. The package consists of a completed Scholarship Program application form, a written essay, a completed certification of academic standing form, and at least one personal recommendation. The Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship: The 2012 FCAC scholarship will be a total of 8 awards made to graduating seniors attending a D.C. public or charter school. The awards consist of two academic excellence scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each, two in the amount of $2,000 each to a student attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), and four book awards in the amount of $500 each. Sweet Diggity Dawg Scholarship Provided By: Zinc. Each year semi-finalists are selected for this scholarship based on their Zinch profile. The semi-finalists then compete in a bracket of 64 students. Students go head-to-head, with fellow Zinch users voting to advance the best profile, until only one student remains claiming the $20,000 scholarship. The Dell Scholars Program Sponsored by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, the Dell Scholars Program carries an award of $20,000 to help students complete their college education. Gates Millennium Scholars: The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program, funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Continuing Gates Millennium Scholars may request funding for a graduate degree program in one of the following discipline areas: computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science. Ron Brown Scholar Program: The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service activities and demonstrate financial need. Each year, ten to twenty students will be designated Ron Brown Scholars and will receive $10,000 annually for four years, for a total of $40,000. The recipients may use the renewable scholarships to attend an accredited four-year college or university of their choice within the United States.
