Spring College Tour: College Bound‘s annual Spring College Tour is to take place from Monday, April 2nd to Thursday, April 5th. We will visit eight schools: University of Delaware, Delaware State University, University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Haverford College, Bryn Mawr College, Lincoln University and Rutgers University. The tour will include tickets to a 76ers game, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, a student panel and a trip to premium outlets in New Jersey. Cost of the tour is $100 for College Bound students. Permission slip and fees are due no later than March 27th. Please see Toronto for a permission slip or if you have any questions or concerns.

College Bound Career Night: College Bound will hold its Annual Career Night on Monday, March 5th at the University Club located at 1135 16th St NW Washington, District of Columbia 20005. Details of the night have been emailed to all students and parents. This is a mandatory event that will take the place of site for this week. The event will take place from 5:30 to 9:15 PM. Dinner will be served. Business attire is required, school uniforms are acceptable. Please contact Toronto is you have any questions or concerns.

C-Span StudentCam Competition: C-SPAN’s StudentCam is an annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think seriously about issues that affect our communities and our nation. Students are asked to create a short (5-8 minute) video documentary that responds to one of two topics: One of our country’s greatest strengths or a challenge the country is facing. Most Valuable Student Competition: The 2012 Most Valuable Student application is due December 2, 2011. The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2012 competition. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Youth Leadership Greater Washington: We would like to invite current sophomores and juniors at your school to apply to 2012 Class of YLGW. Applications are due by 5:00 PM on Friday, November 18, 2011 with an application fee of $25. Potential applicants should be aspiring youth leaders in their school and/or their community; have a strong interest in learning about and addressing the needs of the Greater Washington region and possess a desire to improve their leadership skills.
